Climbing :: Red River Gorge

Arriving late Sunday night on a beautiful fall evening in the Red River Gorge, I called Ashima's aunt (Kay) exchanged pleasantries, and made a plan to meet up with them for a couple days of photographing as 11 year old Ashima set out to climb some of the Red's most difficult routes.

Utah :: Desert Sky and Dirt Bag Dreams

Over the last couple years I've been fortunate to reconnect with some old friends and make some pretty darn cool new ones as I've jumped/fallen/scrambled into the world of rock climbing. "Crux", "splitter", "epicing", "bomber", "bootie", "gobi" "redpoint" and a myriad of other seemingly crude and nonsensical terms have entered my vocabulary, creeping insidiously into a deeper part of my psyche and awakening in me what can probably best be termed "dirt bag" dreams.

Alpine-a-palooza :: Glacier Gorge

Good times hunkering down with old and new friends for a week of climbing, bivying, back country bacon cook offs, alpine scrable, boulder garden exploration, lightning storms and photo shoots galore.

It's not that I don't like climbing, but having surpassed my expectations yesterday by climbing a 5.10 pitch on M2 (broken hand in tow) as well getting a number of solid shots of the guys climbing, I feel validated in a rest day.

10:00 Over a breakfast of fried sausage and polenta cakes topped with leftover pasta sauce, Blake...
